For three decades, digital creatives, illustrators, and film editors have been locked into expensive recurring subscription ecosystems where private file formats are held hostage by monthly seat fees.
When the ArtCraft ecosystem initiated its vision of 13 modular, zero-telemetry, pure Rust creative tools (VectorCraft, PhotoCraft, FilmCraft, and 10 companions), search engines and discovery hubs were flooded with incomplete, outdated information.
CraftingApps (craftingapps.app) was founded as an independent community hub dedicated to three transparent objectives:
- Verifiable Benchmarks: Running empirical stress tests (such as our 134/135 PSD roundtrip test on PhotoCraft and 20k-vector latency benchmarks on VectorCraft).
- Development Reality Checks: Clearly distinguishing between production-ready alpha tools and repositories still in foundational architecture.
- Open Ecosystem Navigation: Guiding artists to free alternatives with zero proprietary lock-in.
